Argor-Heraeus, strategic partner for sustainable gold with two innovative projects

The focus on the topic of sustainability in the precious metals sector and related areas is constantly growing. This means that the market (investors, luxury sector) is increasingly demanding that the purchased gold meets the most stringent environmental, social, and governance criteria. For Argor-Heraeus, the sustainability and responsibility of its own activities and those of its partners have been at the heart of its business policy for many years. Through the launch of new projects and collaborations, the company confirms its commitment to increasingly transparent gold.

It is in this context that two major Swiss banks, Raiffeisen and Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), recently announced the launch of new methods for certifying the transparency of the precious metal, with Argor-Heraeus as the official partner.

Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB): 100% traceable gold thank to DNA technology

The partnership with ZKB, developed in collaboration with the ETH Zurich spin-off company Haelixa (see also here), allows tracing the origin of gold along the supply chain through an innovative technology developed specifically as part of the partnership.

Raiffeisen strengthens supply transparency

Raiffeisen, in partnership with Argor-Heraeus, has adopted a new approach to precious metal sourcing. This is aimed at tracing the origin of gold more accurately and improving the sustainability of companies involved in the supply chain. Specifically, the approach is based on thoughtful selection of supply chain partners, their ongoing monitoring, and the promotion of environmental and social sustainability and transparency in the supply chain.
